White Horses In Technicolor Everywhere (W-H-I-T-E) presents its debut album SUNNA (SC002), a blend of eerie pop melodies, meteoric noises, and gravitational rhythms.
The 16 tracks range from pulsing electronic beats reminiscent of Aphex Twin or Dan Deacon, to almost floating melodic structures like those of The Flaming Lips and Thom Yorke, distinct aesthetic elements which combine and culminate in the most exciting and surprising moments with the effortless but passionate catchiness of early Beach House or Animal Collective.
The effect is that of an emotional astronautical experience - like expansive celestial space sounds breaching the earth’s stratosphere and exploding, melting, and reforming as an ethereal yet grounded album, something to listen to in both caverns and cars.
The full album will be released as a CD in 2010 with Aagoo Records.
W-H-I-T-E is Cory Hanson, residing in Valencia, CA, has played with Magic Mountain, Blackagar Boltagon, Hellomynameischad, and yes, DEER.
Cory also recorded and produced OKIE DOKIE's untitled E.P.
